Great gift for a 7 yo girl's birthday. She had so much fun using it. She was very proud of herself when she finished cute stuffies and a bag. Case is nice too and will be used as storage for her coloring pencils.

We are homeschooling our three boys this year and decided to add a few lifestyle projects. This set was our way to introduce sewing into their curriculum.The kit comes package in an adorable little suitcase. Inside are numerous hand sewing projects that are individually packaged. They even include a small plastic needle.The kit includes five cute felt jungle animals (Tiger, Monkey, Panda, Snake, and Parrot). It also includes a tote bag to carry them around. Even the suitcase is a great feature to hold all the little critters.The kit includes everything you need: plastic needles, kid’s scissors, embroidery thread, stuffing, and the felt animal cutout.Includes easy-to-follow picture instructions and pre-cut shapes with needle holes. Sounds simple? Sounds perfect for our little guys to learn to sew?Well, not exactly. Our kids, ages 5, 7 and 9 really struggled with the tasks. Even with me helping them, it was difficult. You have to hold numerous layers together when sewing and then stuff. For some reason, they just struggled with the concept.The manufacturer recommends for ages 7-12, probably a good idea. Our kids were just too young.

I bought it as a Birthday gift for my 8 year old niece. She loves doing craft activities and she loved it.

My daughter liked this a lot, for at least 2 hours, which made 2 of the projects. The plastic needle is a bit fragile, the amounts of thread don't match up exactly, and it's easy to make a mistake with alignment (you need to push the plastic needle through the pre-made holes, it's not normal sewing), so this is not a project a child can do 100% themselves. Also she needed help with stuffing, and doing some trickier stitches. Overall, this is cute, but expect it to be disposable. It's a project to fill boredom, it's not inherently fascinating.
