Rod is great, used for years.IGNORE the bad reviews, they are ALL shipping related, exchange it instead of leaving bad reviews for an amazing product.I have several ugly stiks from marine to fresh water and they are the best bang for your buck and reel in plenty of fish.

If you’re trying to get bait out to the fish. This is the rod you need for surf fishing. Cannot wait until striper season is on to use this

Does everything a casting rod should do at the beach. Plenty of power. Foam grips are ok, but to be expected for the price range. Zero complaints. Ugly Stik tends to meet a great durability vs cost point. A little heavier than higher end rods, but I don’t spend every weekend surf fishing.

Absolutely love these rods haven’t tested them on any fish but the are definitely worth it. Plan to have these for big flatheads and blue cats.
