This is a must have item for herding dogs. Our dog spends a lot if time herding this ball around d our yard. We are onna 2nd one. My only ding is that our dog often bites through the outer layer. Not a huge deal but wish it was a little tougher.

I'd rate NEGATIVE stars if I could ... The new zipper design is TERRIBLE - flimsy, broke first time trying. I have had older model of this product and zipper MUCH hardier, this innovation is TERRIBLE. The only reason I bought a new cover was bits of fringe ... the new removable zipper clip is THINNER THAN A PAPER CLIP!!!!! Dental floss is stronger. Then, if you do get a grip to zip it shut at specified inflation diameter, FIRST TRY the crappy zipper popper off track ... USELESS>. Flog and Fire the executive who approved this change. Can I still order the old style?

Looks sturdy, I wish our dogs just played with the ball. I guess they scared of the size of it, so maybe it won’t work for everyone.

Good: The actual shell material is quite nice and feels robust and it is a very deep blue color that most animals can see. It rolled through some brambles and didn't pop the interior ball.Bad: the zipper broke within seconds of my German shepherd playing with it. The zipper bent and with minimal amount of force was able to be repaired but it again split within moments.

Dog is happy

My 70lb German Shepard absolutely Loves this ball. Unfortunately, as he is directing it he nips at it, and over a few months has ground down his teeth on the canvas cover to a point where they are no longer rounded but are now pointed and sharp and needing repairs to his teeth. Now that his teeth have sharp edges they are catching the seams of the cover tearing them open. He has punctured the ball after the zipper broke off exposing the ball inside. I used the included patches but they did not create a perfect seal and started to leak. I did manage to repair the hole by using flex tape, so if you have problems with holes i recommend Flex tape for repair. The cover for this ball would be good if they could get the seams on the inside as to not catch teeth on them.

Due to family emergency, I was unable to open and use the replacement cover before return window closed. When I was able to place the original 25” ball in the cover and fill it to the max with air, the cover was too big. Disappointing and too expensive to try to buy a bigger ball. The first cover didn’t last long as occasionally my border collie would mess around with the zipper area. Fleeting moments of intrigue were had pushing the ball around, but her tooth must have caught the zipper area, making it rip a little. When that happened, she became investigative and made the material rip even more. I think we are done with this expensive experiment. Back to the beat up soccer ball.

All of the pet toys I have purchased in my 50+ years pale in comparison to this herding ball. Rascal Flats is my red healer puppy that I adopted when he needed a home. I live on one acre so not a place to keep cattle that he so desperately wants to herd. I felt so bad for my little boy, he NEEDED A JOB, that I was considering finding him a home where he had livestock to herd. My heart wasBreaking but I felt it unfair to him. My precious niece said get him a herding ball (I had never heard of such!). When I got the ball inflated and put it down for him he immediately started pushing it around the yard. He has pushed this ball a million miles since and I swear he smiles. The first one was damaged due to my incorrectly inflating it. But I got him another quickly and he is playing again. I will always keep one for him from now on. It is very rugged and well made. I can not say enough good about this product. Rascal said “5 stars”.
