OrlyGelFX Vitamin-Infused Easy-Off BASECOAT 0.3oz/9ml

Great base coat! I upgraded to this base coat after months of using the Beetles and Modelones basecoats that came with their sets. Those basecoats were good for what they were, they wore well and were chip and peel resistant but took forever to remove. I’d file off the topcoat, soak for 30 minutes with the help of a heating pad and even at that point, I struggled to get the gel completely off my nails. Not so with this stuff. While it doesn’t soak off in the 5 minutes it advertised (maybe because I’m not using Orly brand gel polishes or because I tend to do 3-4 coats of color?), it flakes/crumbles off pretty easily in 10-15. That’s a huge improvement. My nails also look much healthier when the gel comes off than they did with my other base coats. That could be because of the vitamins this base coat says it has, though I assume it’s more likely that my nails are just experiencing less trauma during the removal process.I can usually get 7-10 days of wear using just this base before I get any chipping or peeling, but as I like to wear a manicure for 2-3 weeks, I’ve been using Orly’s primer underneath applied only to the tips. This works splendidly. As I type, I’m soaking off a three week old mani that looked pretty good apart from the obvious growth around my cuticles.Love this stuff and I will definitely get the bigger bottle when it’s time to repurchase!

I like this base coat a lot. I love that it comes with a very small brush, this makes it easy to control and apply a thin layer. It works very well: my gel manis last 3 weeks, with no chipping and even no edge wear. I mean, this is a really good base coat.I file most of my color off before I soak off. So I am not entirely sure if this is easier to remove. Gels are hard to remove, for me, in general. With filed-off color, the base coat and remnants of color take about 10-15 minutes to soak off. Most of the gel is off in 10 minutes.My only real complaint about this is that it shrinks a LOT. Even before curing, the gel pulls back from the edges of application. This makes getting close to the cuticle and sidewall difficult. But it's not enough to deduct a star, imo.

This base coat is very easy to remove if you buff the top layer and soak for 5 minutes. It is not a peel off. If you want it to work successfully, only use a very thin coat, don’t go all the way to the cuticle and cure for 2 minutes. It didn’t adhere for me properly until I figured this out.

Works great. Stays on untill you want it off. I do a layer and cure it them a layer of base coat. Peels right off.

This destroyed my natural nails when removing. It chipped after only 2 days, but didn’t come off in a single piece. Instead it was similar to standard gel base coat. I’ve only used it once but wasn’t impressed.

I use the entire Orly FX line and it really lasts 21 days as long as you don’t paint on your cuticles. My only complaint is it’s extremely difficult to get off. I don’t get falsies because of the drilling, but take off usually takes about 45-60 mins for ALL (base coat, polish, bodyguard and top coat) to be removed. Even with covering and heating the remover.

Prepped nails, cured as directed, and its peeling off already. It's only been 12 hours! Very disappointed and this item is NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN because of flammable contents. DO NOT PURCHASE!

I have zero complaints about this. It makes it so much easier to remove my gel polish and eliminates a lot of damage to my natural nails. Cuts my soaking time in half.
