Yes. It’s been a stand by in the woodworking community for a long time. The negative reviews are from people that don’t understand the differences in types of wood finishes and expect this product to do things it can’t. If you are looking for an based wipeon type finish that has wax and oil in one product, this is exactly what you want and does it well. If you want your wood to look shiny like you coated it in polyurethane then it I’ll fail at that because it’s not polyurethane.

Q: can you apply this over chalk paint, I have a project that will be part natural wood and the other part painted. Can I apply it over all to seal?

I have done over milk paint and it worked well. Some of the paint dissolved, but that was the look I wanted.

Q: Does anyone know what the closest color would be to Minwax Puritan Pine?

Hi Laura, this product really doesn't add any color to the wood. It will show the woods true color.

Q: Would this work well on an externnal deck handrail made of cumeru?

It depends on how often you want to reapply and your goal for a finish. I used it on my floors and love it but if you're looking for one application durability, an external use is probably not the best for this product. If, however, you're fine with a periodic reapplication then this will work for you.
