Hi yes it is refillable. I have had mine about 2 months and not had occasion to refill. I believe they last about 12 months before refill is needed.They really do work and has been of enormous help to me as my lungs are so sensitive and always getting clogged up. But one has to work at it, it is not a bit of good just taking few whiffs and expecting miracles.I take long hard breaths into my lungs and exhale through my nose, for ten to fifteen mins every night while sitting in bed. All my adult children have noticed a big difference in my health. Some nights if I am too tired or too lazy to bother with my salt pipe I am bunged up the next morning.best of luck!

Obviously heavier than plastic, but far more pleasant to use. I use mine while sitting up in bed 10-15mins in morning, then the same again at night.Made a huge difference to my lungs.
