Q: Work with JK 2007 manual?

Yes it will work with 2007 6 speed manual.

Q: Has anyone installed this without lowering the transmission?

Yes. Take off the shift knob, upper boot, unscrew the shift handle, then remove the lower boot and then dig out the foam around the factory shifter. I believe you want the shifter in neutral. Unscrew the 4 torx screws and pull the factory shifter out. Install the B&M Shifter. If you cut off the bottom "flange" part of the new foam you may be able to work it around the B&M shifter without breaking it. Then install the lower boot, the shift lever, the upper boot, and a new or aftermarket shifter knob because the factory one probably broke when pulling it off.

Q: Does this shift require an aftermarket shifter handle/knob or can i use the original that comes with the jeep?

Your factory shift knob will work as designed. , no modifications needed.

Q: I have a 2006 jeep liberty. it does not pop out of first gear, but grinds and fights to be put into reverse. could this help?

i used it on a 2006 tj. manly due to lift kit changing space to shift. had to take a very small portion of the console off but worked well for me. had trouble getting into reverse. solved issue
