I'm totally hooked on this chateau. Bought the book and read it cover-to-cover, I follow their Instagram account, and have watched most of the YouTube videos they've produced.The photos in this book are beautiful and the written commentary is really interesting. This passion-project the owners have embarked on is probably a financial mistake, but I hope my purchase of their book provides a little cash in their coffer to complete some little project. since I bought a hardcover book [I have a Kindle] and the feel and general production was a pleasure. The amount of "hard yakka" required is amazing on this community project. From the Architect, the owners, the State, the amazing artisans, the other workers, the suppliers and the volunteers it will continue and gain momentum. Trying to remodel an older house to provide comfort and an aesthetic experience for myself I feel much better when things get on top of me and I compare my tiny project to theirs. The author Mr. Holding and fiancé Felicity originally from Australia, have embarked on the huge task of saving the 18th century historic Chateau Puron. The book is a diary of their adventures and trials in this restoration. It has proven extremely interesting in their un-covering artifacts and information that have almost been lost to history. They also produce a u-tube program that actually helps the reader become thoroughly enveloped in the journey they have taken.I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves old chateau in need of restoratio and saving French historical buildings. The purchase price also helps with the financial cost of the restoration for this remarkable building.
