Q: is the ink actually india ink ?

I’m sorry I don’t know what India ink is. I bought this pen for it’s thick tip to be able to write with bold lettering. It fits that purpose.

Q: Can this pen be used over gesso or modeling/texture paste without ruining the pen?

Can be used On Gesso after it’s completely dried. Haven’t tried it on modeling paste yet, but I’m assuming it will ruin the pen.

Q: can you replace the ink when it runs out?

No the ink can not be replaced. The pen last a very very very long time..,

Q: I see that this big black 'brush' pen is in fact a 'brush' nib, but the white shows a 'bullet' and the description says brush?

Just order the white one through dickblick honestly. theres no consensus in the comments, but the black one is a brush, the white one is a bullet nib. White brushes are available at blick though.
