Q: Could these be used for other applications like motorcycling, coach travel on airlines, listening to music, etc?

1) why in the name of God would you want to use a $900 aviation headset with boom mic while sitting in the coach section of an airliner? That’d be like using a NASA space suit to go snorkeling in your home swimming pool. 2) Aviation aircraft headsets use two standard aviation connectors (one is larger diameter than the other) that are no where close to the single jack typically used in the applications you are talking about. That being said I would not be surprised if there were adapters out there somewhere.

Yes it does come with a case. It is a formed rigid style case that offers good protection for storage of the headset. Personally I would like to see a place in or on the case for storage of a logbook, other than that it is a nice case.
