No, because it's not steps it's cycling while sitting still.

Q: There is zero resistance, is this normal??! the description is a complete misleading?

I found that resistance knob worked ok but felt that the bike was too light - didn't stay in position

Q: How do you get this to stop slipping and wobbling?

I have never had that trouble. I use mine on a carpet, but I don’t get the wobble.

Q: What is the additional strap for?

I have no idea. Assume to put your feet in but it doesn't work for me. The bike itself is fine .I find it easier to sit on a kitchen chair to use it.
