4x4 (3.5 x 3.5) Mailbox Post Protector Guard (Mill Finish) - Wood Post Trimmer Shield

High quality item. Just measure your post prior to purchasing this. The dimensions were exactly as stated, but my post is a hair too large for this item. I just re-bent it with a vise to make it work. It was no fault of this item/the firm making it, it was totally my fault for assuming that our mailbox post was standard regarding these covers. After re-bending and using them, they work perfectly, and look awesome, to protect my newly painted mailbox post from my weed eater string.

The aluminum was a good heavy gauge. They fit tight around a 4 X 4 ( 3.5 X3.5 ). I wished they made them in 6 inch height, for better protection. But these did work well and are easy to install.

Very sturdy , just a little bit to small for my mailbox post. I would have preferred this be about 1/4 inch bigger to fit whole post

Easy to install and perfect fit

Does what it is supposed to. It comes with a clear plastic film to protect the metal in shipping & handling. I had this installed in under 10 minutes (took me time to find my driver!). If you weed wacker has done a number to your mail box post, get this installed, it is easy to install, looks good, and performed very well, has no blemishes after a summer of trimming.

These were a perfect fit for my mailbox post. Since my post is cedar, I used my own stainless steel screws to install the metal pieces to help prevent the screws from rusting as fast. The aluminum is thicker than I expected it to be so it will be more durable than I was expecting it to be.

The photos and description show a silver/aluminum piece, which is what I wanted to match my other accents. What I received is painted white. No point in having a painted guard as a weed whip will just damage it if the wire hits it.

I would definitely buy these again, they look good and protect the mailbox post from weed eater damage.
