Q: How does this newer model differ from the iview 3500stbii that i have used in the past?

Better remote. Additional front panel controls. NTFS file system support for USB drive. Cleaner audio (lower THD). Reduced power consumption.

Q: How can you make the front lcd display to show clock/time? mine displays only channel

The front display of 3300STB will display the clock while you are not using it. when you turn on the front display will show the channel number. We do have the latest firmware update for you to update "https://www.iviewus.com/firmware3500STBIII/" which improve the time, channel display and you can rename channel and recording TV show name.
